The research
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) professionals are essential in fostering inclusivity and equity within academia and organizations. However, the emotional and psychological toll of their work often goes unacknowledged. This research seeks to explore the mental health and wellness of DEI professionals, in the context of evolving political and organizational landscapes on their well-being, and how this (amongst a number of other factors) influences their ability to perform their roles. The current political climate, which increasingly challenges the legitimacy of DEI efforts, further exacerbates these challenges.
This study aims to fill a critical gap in understanding the mental health needs of DEI professionals and to develop interventions that support their well-being.
